About Dr. Loya

My philosophy is centered around the value of being human. Accessing the most genuine and self-compassionate version of yourself and allowing the process to unfold naturally.

My Approach

Psychotherapy is an incredible adventure; one that can be intimidating at first but is often cathartic, eye opening, and enjoyable in a way that you would not have anticipated. You have the opportunity to open hidden doors for yourself and make changes that you will benefit from your whole life.

Everyday I am humbled by working with people who have the courage to take a look in the mirror and work on themselves. I view  psychotherapy as an opportunity for growth and development no matter where you are in your life; whether you are seeking support in a time of crisis, are suffering from mental health difficulties, have a desire to deepen your relationships, or are simply curious about how to reach a higher level of self knowledge and gain renewed power over your life.

I have a collaborative style and believe in psychotherapy as an important space for laughter, fun, creativity, and play, as much as it is a place for pain and healing. You will find that I will be myself when I sit with you and will offer my warmth, humor, insight, reactions, and guidance in an authentic manner. I will check in with you from time to time about how we are doing together. Growth within the therapeutic relationship is essential, similar to relationships in your life outside of our sessions. I take immense pride in the meaningful relationships I develop with each patient and carefully adapt my approach to ensure that you are comfortable and getting the most out of your treatment.

My clinical orientation is rooted in psychodynamic and relational frameworks, although I tailor my technique to each individual's needs. I emphasize understanding the whole person and value the importance of change beyond symptom resolution but also to increase self awareness and personal growth. Together, we will recognize and maximize your strengths, as many of us fail to see much of the resilience we already possess. I am passionate about integrating eastern and western medicine into my therapeutic technique and will integrate alternative practices as appropriate.

I often collaborate with my extensive network of professionals trained in areas ranging from psychiatry to energy healing and body work. When we are open to working with people who can help us see the world from different angles, we have the potential to grow astronomically.

I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and have worked in various settings including community mental health, employee assistance (EAP), hospital, and college counseling, and have been in solo private practice since 2017.
